Small marble capital from the Carolingian period decorated on all sides. This pre-Romanesque capital is decorated with masks with an acanthus leaf decoration on the basket.
Trephine work characteristic of the period.
Similar capitals are represented on an ivory plaque dated from the end of the 9th century, coming from Reims and representing the baptism of Clovis. Amiens Museum Inv. MP1875.61.
